Wash-Sensor Protein M-, E- & K- Plus

Rapid tests for detecting protein residues in narrow-lumen endoscopes (M), gastroscopes (E), and colonoscopes (K).

  • Easy handling with no preparation time
  • No laboratory equipment required
  • High accuracy from 1 µg of protein

Description

The Wash-Sensor Protein M, E, and K-Plus are rapid protein tests, optimized for the regular inspection of narrow-lumen instruments. With the 2.5-meter-long swab, even extremely long endoscopes, gastroscopes, and colonoscopes can be reliably tested for protein residues.

You receive a ready-to-use, user-friendly test system that minimizes the risk of handling errors. No laboratory equipment or additional tools are required for the test. The Wash-Sensor Protein works without any preparation time and is characterized by its particularly high sensitivity: even 1 microgram of protein is reliably detected.

Application

The application of the Wash-Sensor Protein is quick and easy:

  1. Open the packaging and remove the swab. The swab must not come into contact with your hands or other protein-containing surfaces.
  2. If the instruments are dry, first moisten the swab with water. No special requirements are placed on water quality.
  3. Carefully wipe the inner surface of the hollow body instrument with the swab.
  4. Open the screw cap of the reagent vial and immerse the swab in the reagent solution for about 5 seconds. It should be rinsed as thoroughly as possible by twisting and dipping.
  5. Then remove the swab and close the reagent vial.

Evaluation

You can read the test result immediately, but no later than 10 minutes. If the original color of the reagent solution does not change, there is no contamination with proteins. A color change from brown to blue is a reliable indicator of protein residues on the tested surface. The more intense the blue discoloration, the higher the level of contamination.

Note: The swab will always turn blue during the evaluation! This is a safety feature to distinguish used swabs from unused ones.

Extra Positive Control

We recommend that you confirm the functionality of the test if you store the reagent vials for an extended period before use. To this end, you will receive a control kit with each Wash-Sensor Protein.

Inhalt der Positiv-Kontrolle für den Wash-Sensor Protein

The positive control consists of:

  • 1 reagent vial
  • 1 swab
  • 1 Wash-Sensor WD indicator plate

To verify the test, moisten the swab of the positive control and vigorously wipe the red dot on the indicator plate until the test contamination is clearly removed. Immerse the swab in the reagent solution and rinse as thoroughly as possible. If the positive control shows a distinct color change to blue, the functionality of the test is still ensured.
