Indicator system for testing the cleaning effectiveness of hollow-body instruments such as turbines, handpieces, and contra-angles in washing-disinfectors (WD).
In dentistry, instruments with hollow bodies pose a particular challenge during reprocessing. For example, with transmission instruments (handpieces and contra-angles) or suction devices, the internal surfaces cannot be visually inspected for cleanliness.
With the Wash-Sensor H Dental, Stericop offers you a simple, routine-compatible way to verify the reprocessing of hollow-body instruments. Such a test is required according to RKI/KRINKO 2012* (Appendix 3) for the reprocessing of medical devices. By including the test in the WD cycle, you can ensure that the cleaning process functions correctly.
Our testing system consists of a durable stainless steel test body and replaceable indicator strips. Whether you use an WD from Miele, Melag, Scican, or other manufacturers, Stericop provides the appropriate adapter for your device.
The test soil on the indicator strips simulates human blood and tissue residues. The test body with the inserted indicator strip imitates an internally contaminated lumen instrument.
The indicator strips can be used with both the Wash-Sensor H Dental and the Wash-Sensor H & E. You can reorder the strips from us separately in various pack sizes.

The application of the Wash-Sensor H Dental is quick and straightforward:
Note: For daily routine testing, the test system only needs to be included with the normal load. Please also follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the correct loading of your WD.
After the cleaning program has finished, open the test body of the Wash-Sensor H Dental and remove the indicator strip.
Caution: The test body may still be hot!
Visually inspect the removal of the red test soil. A correct cleaning process is only confirmed if the red spot has been completely removed.
